Four people were wounded in a drive-by shooting outside a venue hosting a boxing event south of Brisbane. Queensland police responded to reports of gunfire at 8.15pm and found the vehicle involved had fled the scene. The four injured individuals were taken to the hospital, and their conditions were being assessed.

The shooting took place at Fitzys Loganholme on Bryants Road, where the Logan City Titles Fight Night was scheduled to take place on Saturday. Deputy commander Chris Stream called the scene 'confronting,' noting that several people had been hit by gunfire.

Logan mayor Jon Raven said the event had frightened residents. 'This has sent a shockwave through Logan. We've never seen something like this in Logan before,' he said. Raven expressed his thoughts being with the victims, the staff, and everyone at the event.

Raven said he had attended similar nights before and found them to be a family-friendly environment, with many children present. 'This will impact them for the rest of their lives,' he said. The mayor said the night had been organized to help steer children away from violence.

The organiser uses boxing to empower and reconnect young people who might be going off the rails. 'This is the opposite of what he'll want to see,' Raven said. Logan City Titles posted a statement on social media on Sunday morning expressing their heartbreak over the incident.

The organisers described the event as one for the community, showcasing local talent, hard work and everyone's skills inside the ring. 'These types of incidents have no place in the boxing community or any part of the broader community,' the statement said.

The offenders remain at large. Police said there was no ongoing threat to the public and urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact them.
